This was the forth time I ran out of fuel and this was especially frustrating as I was just in a queue at the service station next to Bunnings.
I sorted out a simple gadget to reprime the fuel line beyond the fuel filter and although there was a small amount of diesel spilt it was pretty straight forward.
The gadget consisted of 10mm clear tube in a 1 litre jug of diesel connected to an in line squeeze pump and then with 8mm clear tube to the outlet of the fuel pump. This was used to fill the fuel pump and then while cranking the sprinter it forced the fuel through and the engine started pretty quickly. The only messy bit was swapping the fuel line over to the engine line.
