Pasted Graphic

An overnight family hike from Helensburgh to Bundeena along the coast track.

The day started wet and so we were slow to get away.
We drove to Helensburgh station and set off in the rain:

We were 8 intrepid hikers and our first obstacle was going to be the Hacking RiverpastedGraphic
here Emma wades across the torrent. Most of the others took along detour downstream to a bridge. The next challenge as the leaches:

Finally we reached the beach after following the “Burgh Track”

The views were great

and the puddles deep:

some great scenerypastedGraphic
although our late start caught up with us:

A nice campsite although Gary forgetting the tent poles made for a slack looking tent:

The waterfall at Wattamolla was a pleasant start for Sunday:

Then a few water crossing, first on the beach

Then on the track:pastedGraphic
And of course there was mud:

After 26 km we finally finished at Bundeena and caught the ferry to Cronulla and then the train to Sutherland and on to Helensburgh: Here we are waiting at Sutherland.
