Bridge to Nowhere Ride
A great adventure
This was Thursday 25th October:
We left Rotorua at 5:30am for the drive South to Raetihi arriving there shortly after 8am
We got a shuttle to the Ruatiti Road track start and rode the 35km to the “Bridge to Nowhere” and on to Mangapurua Landing on the Whanganui River.
This took 5 hours.
Then a 50 minute jet boat ride downstream to get the shuttle back to Raetihi and the drive home.
As far as mountain biking was concerned it was mostly fire road and there were a lot of narrow swing bridges which required walking.
As an opportunity to see some amazing scenery it was a top trip.
The views were fantastic and the “Bridge” was certainly in the middle of Nowhere!
