This is the company we used to come to Gulmarg. They organised everything: hotels, transportation, ski guides from when we arrived in Srinagar, Kashmir until our departure.
We were delighted with their service while in Kashmir.

Hotel Heevan or more correctly the Heevan Retreat Gulmarg was the hotel we stayed at for the whole 28 days of our visit. It is certainly not the cheapest hotel in town but the staff are extremely friendly and the food is excellent. Also from reports from other people it has the most reliable hot water. Also reliable room heating a functioning generateor and good internet. We were very happy at this hotel.

There are apparently 2 helicopters working out of Gulmarg with NZ and Indian pilots offering the opportunity to Heliski. While we were there they had been having trouble getting over red tape to allow them to fly but that was resolved and they were operational by about mid February 2013.

The owner of this company: Matt Appleford, was staying at our hotel for the first week. He has a number of US guides and they seem to be well organised and run professional tours. I am unsure about other companies but they do offer some ski instruction from US qualified instructors in conduction with guiding.
