Greg had gone down to Spring Hill near Canberra for Friday and Saturday to teach some students. Larry had gone with him. Friday they were teaching Rick who unfortunately hit a rock and badly cut his shin and twisted his ankle.

Andrew and I drove down Saturday morning. We left before 5am and were down there about 7:30am. It seemed too light so we hung around not going up for a hour or more.
Nigel was under instruction by Greg.
Also Mark Mitsos and Johno came down.
I had too short flights as each time I bombed out but then my third flight was well over an hour. We went back up before lunch and after a lot of hassle getting my wing sorted out I had nearly 20 minutes flying the Shooka. After lunch it had eased off a bit to about 14 knots and I had a second Shooka flight though it was fairly short. Then when we got back up the wind had dropped and it was great flying in maybe 10 - 13 knots and after about half an hour it was very smooth. I did 3 top landings and Andrew practiced trying to land on a large rock which he did successfully 3 times. (See photo above). Finally there was only Andrew, Phil (the owner of the property) and me still in the air. Andrew and I top landed and Andrew had twisted his knee when he had first launched so he drove the car down and I flew down about 5:30pm after a great afternoon of flying.
Counting the 3+1 top landings I did 10 flights for the day and about 3.5 hours in the air.
