Day 1: Saturday it was raining.
Day 2: Sunday
we went to Mother Wilson (a rarely used launch in NSW) but after about 15 people had launched the task was abandoned due to dangerous winds in the valley and also because the launch was very difficult with the wind being very cross and even coming over the back for quite a while, as you can see from the wind-sock in this snap. It took 1 1/4 hours to drive from Corryong to the launch which was on a very friendly farmers property at the top of a steep 4WD track.
Day 3: Monday 17th February 2014
The day started well with clear skies and we headed up to Mt Elliott for an 11:30 briefing. A 74 km task was set and launch opened at 12:30for a 1:30start. I launched at 12:45. I got a couple of great climbs including one whoch took me from about 750m to above 1800m (over 1000m in one thermal) but then found mostly sink and was lucky not to land in trees and eventually touched down on a clearing at 3:08pm on "Yabbarine".
The gaggle.
