We decided I should do an early flight so we were out at the gate about 7:30 where we ate breakfast. When the first tandems headed up the hill we followed up in "Raggedy Ann" (our red van) Annette watched me launch for a sleddy down to the parking lot which probably took about 15 minutes.
We waited for the tandems to head up for their 3rd flight and I hitched a lift up with them (cost $6) and while most of the others had lunch I launched. It was not as thermic as I had hoped but very slowly I climbed to almost the top of the ridge line which took about an hour. I then flew along the spectacular range to above the waterfalls near the landing and then spent maybe spent 20 minutes slowly descending. My vary ran out of power after an hour so it was harder to climb for the last half of the flight.
2 great flights.
A shot by Annette just after launch. Then me (the speck above the waterfalls as I circled down.
A perfect touch down in front of the car (Annette's photo)
