Had been to Shellharbour to pick up stuff for paddling on Sunday.
Arrived back at Kate and Andrews at 2pm and Stacey and Andrew were just heading off to fly tandem.
I ate a quick lunch and left at 2:20pm
Launched just before 2:50pm
Flew all the way up to Burning Palms and then back to Stanwell and landed on the South Top landing.
Someone had landed in the trees just below "Stoney Range" and the Police Rescue were just leaving when I arrived after taking a long time to get him down from in the trees.
It was difficult to lose enough height to land.
I walked up to the "East" launch as it was crowded at the main launch.
There was another glider in the trees where a guy had got too far back trying to top land. Andrew saw him go into the trees.
I launched for a second flight about 3:40 and flew until about 4pm.
I crossed to Mitchells and although I had plenty of height I tried to find lift soaring well to the South and then back to near the small clearing but could not find any lift even though I had my little vario. When I landed there was a lot of rotor and I suddenly got blown sideways and the wing landed dropped across a small tree which was tricky to untangle
Andrew had flown for about 1 1/2 hours on the tandem with Stacey.
I had done 2 flights, the first a bit over 40 minutes and the second about 20 minutes.
