A LUCKY OUT-LANDING ON THE ROCK PLATFORM on flight 10.
photo above shows landing site!

It had been raining off and on all week and was still raining Sunday morning. At about 11:30am it seemed to be looking like fining up and the aid was from the SSW at about 12 knots and suppose to move to the East during the afternoon.
I headed down about noon and launched on the Shooka (my speed wing or mini wing) at about 12:20 to 12:55
It was a bit cool and I hung around chatting for nearly an hour before first Larry and then Andrew turned up. My next three flights were each a bit over a quarter of an hour each. I then had 5 shorter flights between 5 and 10 minutes each, practicing top landings on the Shooka.

My final flight (10) the wind seemed to be more constantly from the SE or pretty much perpendicular to the coast. I headed up North and even past Stoney Hill towards the Pie Shop. I turned and lost height all the way back as the wind had swung back to the South. Things were not looking good as I lost height rapidly on the little wing and finaly grazed some trees as I past East of a small promontory. It was not looking good at all! I was definitely NOT going to make the beach and it was very rocky were I was going to have to land. Things went well, all things considered as I managed to land on a slippery boulder just out of the surf and the wing landed on the rocks. Ir it was a fast downwind landing in a difficult location and could have been a WHOLE LOT WORSE. I got a bit of salt water on may pants and on the bottom of may harness and before I could ball up my wing a larger wave did spray my wing a little, but overall no problems. I rang Andrew who I did not realise had been watching the whole thing from the sky directly above. He was flying his Alpina and had miles of lift.
The tide was not too high and I could easily walk out along the rocks.
